November has seen cadets taking part in Remembrance parades in Loughton, Wanstead and Whitehall, with the Sqn band in fine form at the Loughton parade, after collecting over £5000 for the British Legion Poppy Appeal. Sgt Chandler sounded the Last Post at the Department for Education,
Junior cadets have been shooting on the Air Range with marksman qualifications gained, and the Sqn Fanfare Team won the national championships at RAF Honnington, the first time the Sqn has achieved this accolade. Cadet have also been flying at RAF Benson in the Tutor aircraft, the Inter Flight cross country – won by No 1 Flight and Recruit Flight have joined the main Sqn.
October has been busy with the Squadron being crowned the top Cadet unit in the National Service Rifle Championships at Pirbright winning the Champion Unit and cadets winning 6 Cadet 50 Badges. Cadets have also been flying the aerobatic Tutor at RAF Benson, competing in the Elworthy Sword where we won the dead weight pull and archery, our Fanfare Team winning the LaSER Region Fanfare competition, and a local World War One memorial. Straight back from the summer holidays and the Sqn has been Shooting, Flying, Gliding, taken part in a drill camp, and won the overall Wing Field Day in London Wing for the fourth consecutive year, with wins in Solo Bugler, Fanfare, Air Recognition, seconds in First Aid, Full Band, Percussion, Aero Modelling, a fourth in drill and fifth in Banner Drill, and a Recruit and Field training camp at Crowborough. A great month for the cadet experience!

June has been hectic for the Sqn with cadets representing the Region at Athletics, L98 shooting, an aviation muster at RAF Benson, supporting Armed Forces Day in Ilford and Chingford, visiting the Army School of Music, Recruit Flight 87 passout out of basic training, a Bronze DoE expedition, supporting our afiliated Livery Company of Joiners and Ceilers with a carpet guard and Part Task Trainer aviation instruction at Kenley– full details can be found on our Facebook page at 241squadron Air Cadets
May has seen the Sqn win the London & Middlesex Rifle Association Cadet Target Rifle Competition for a fourth consecutive year, the London Wing Athletics competition for a second year, vist RAF Odiham home of the Chinook helicopter, 2 Mountain weekends in North Wales, a Bronze DoeE practise expedition, Cadets supporting DoE at Buckingham Palce and the appointment of FS Ponteen as the Mayors Cadet for the London Borough of Redbridgeand much more! – full details can be found on our Facebook page at 241squadron Air Cadets
April has seen the cadets very busy winning the London Wing Inness Sword Military Skills competition, conducting an L81 target rifle camp at Pirbright, running the annual McGrath Trophy intersection competiton (won by Cpl Ahmed with No 4 Section), supporting the RAF 100 celebrations and much more! – full details can be found on our Facebook page at 241squadron Air Cadets
March has seen the cadets busy with the first L81 target rifle shoot of the year in very snowy conditions, Recruit and Fieldcraft Training at Crowborough, Drill and Band camp on Bodney , cadets recieving awards from the Mayor of Redbridge and CWO Billie James being selected as the best female cadet in London and South East Region and going forward to the National competition in May– full details can be found on our Facebook page at 241squadron Air Cadets
