Cpl Alex Dutch led 2 Section to victory at the Annual McGrath Trophy competition at Crowborough Training Camp on Sunday 26 Apr. The McGrath Trophy is named after Sqn Warrant Officer Norman McGrath, a veteran of World War Two who served on the Sqn for over 50 years. The competition, which is the Premier Military Skills Event that is run by the Sqn, sees the Sqn’s 3 main Flights 9 Sections compete with each other in Drill, Shooting, Command Tasks, First Aid, Orienteering, Observation and General Service Knowledge, as well as having the opportunity to use the Camp Assault Course. Over 90 Staff and Cadets attended the competition, with one of our service helpers, Plt Off Jason Rueben, coming down from RAF Fylingdales for the event, which he won as a young Corporal back in 2001. Preparation starts tomorrow for the 2010 Event!
The photographs shows Cadets on the command task, dealing with one of the first aid casualties (rather convincingly played by Cpl Adam Sinclair) and the winning section (although appologies for the rather blurry shot!)
