The Sqn provided a large contingent for the ATC Sunday as over 500 members of the Air Training Corps gathered at the Central Church of the RAF St Clement Danes in Strand, London, for the launch event of the ATC’s 70th anniversary year. Cadets and staff were joined by Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton, Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Barbara Cooper, top senior serving members of the RAF and numerous guests for the service of thanksgiving and dedication.The central event during the service was the dedication of a new ATC Banner.
Prior to the service the 6 Wings that make up London and South East Region paraded through the streets of London to the Church, with Sgt Ross Graham carrying the Wing Banner at the front of London Wing. OC 241, Sqn Ldr Godden said “This was a milestone in the history of the Corps, and it is also the 70th anniversary of the formation of 241 Sqn. The cadets deported themselves well and where a credit to the Sqn and the Wing, especially the Banner Party, and it didnt rain!”
