70th Anniversary

On Saturday 22 January the Squadron celeberated its 70th anniversary in style at Chigwell Police Club, with a Dinning In and Guest Night, which saw ex cadets from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s join with the current Squadron Staff, Cadets and Committee and friends from around the Wing (2324 Sqn, 1838 Sqn and Wing Staff and the new London Wing Commander, Wg Cmdr Naeem, as well as staff¬† from further afield (staff from the Junior Leaders Course,¬† 378 (Mannock) Squadron, former officers and a OC of the Sqn, Flt Lt Hales from the 70’s). Organised, excellently, by CI Kirsty Troy, the Sqn marked this major milestone with a three course meal, speeches, dancing, a generally excellent time and a 70th anniversary cake, cut by the Senior member of staff, Sqn Ldr Trevor Roberts who has been associated with the Sqn since the 1960s and Cdt Malloy, the youngest cadet on the Sqn. Described by many participants as a fantastic event the Sqn now looks forward to the next 70 years.
