Cadets from the shooting team attended the London & Middlesex Rifle Association Competition at NRA Bisley on Sunday 6th May.
An annual comptition for Cadet units this year saw 22 Teams from the ATC and Army Cadets from as far away as Gloster entering for shoots at 300 yards and 500 yards on the Cadet 7.62mm Target Rifle.
The Squadron entered four teams of cadets, and the A Team came second by the thin margin of 2 V Bulls (a score which is designed to act as a tie break, with the Team scoring 242.9 to the winning team 242.11 !). Whilst a shame not to win it shows how close the competition was and the calibre of the winning team from Gloster ACF. We were the highest placed ATC Unit and ICWO Tom Burgess had the second highest score at 300 and 500.
The next stop is the Inter Service Cadets Rifle meeting at Bisley in July, where we are aiming for cadets to achieve the coveted Cadet 100 qualification.
