Ben goes Solo

Top shot Cdt Ben Filer has proved he has also has a steady hand in the Air by passing a two week Flying Scholarship Course at Dundee Scotland. The course, which is free, gave Ben 10 hours of flying time as well as intensive instruction in aviation matters and culminated in him going solo to earn his "Wings".

No mean achievement for someone who is yet to drive. This now means he has soloed in both a Glider and Powered Aircraft, so who knows where next!

Ben is also awaiting the award of his Gold DOE and has passed a Public Service BTEC worth 4 GCSEs, as well as gaining 2 Cadet 100s for shooting prowess.
