The Sqn Shooting Team attended the Inter Service Cadets Rifle Meeting (ISCRM) at Bisley, the home of British and Commonwealth Shooting from 07 Jul – 10 Jul.
Competitions were fired at 300, 500, 600, 900, and 1000 yards in weather that ranged from driving rain to being so hot camels were seen on the range.
Three Teams took part, and the A Team of Sgt Kris Pisano, Cpl Dave Zealander, Cdt Rudy Bustamante, and Ben Filer came 22nd out of 121 teams from the Army, Navy and Air Cadets, as well as teams from Canada (and 9th of 54 ATC Teams) a stirling effort against teams who have been doing this competition for many years – this is only our third year.
Congratulations to Rudi Bustamante for gaining the prestigious Cadet 100, meaning he is in the top 100 Cadets in the whole country at shooting. This is the Sqns 3rd 100 in recent years and a superb achievement as the competition this year was extremely stiff.
Comiserations to Kris Pisano and Dave Zealander (again!) who just missed out by a few points.
The Sqn Tent striking team also achieved a notable success in dismantleing 14 12″ x 12″ tents in under 1.5 hours in the blazing heat. Congatulations are also due to Danny Rae for his Vindaloo eating skills!
