In Mid February 5 cadets from the Squadron attended St James Palace in London to recieve their Gold Duke of Edinburghs Award from Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex. This is the culmination of 4 – 5 years of participating in the scheme for the cadet and Gold, Silver and Bronze levels. A years voluntering, learning new skills, physical training, a weeks residential course and a 4 day wild country expedition in the Lake District saw CWO Chris Raj, Sgt Angelica Cooney, Sgt Gideon Goldsmith, Cpl Parid Golemi and Cpl Kris Kretovs (not in the photo as he attended an evening presentation due to work commitments) presented with their certificates. CWO Raj commented “this was a great day for us all and made all the hard work worth while!”. 12 cadets from 241 Squadron have gained their Gold DoE awards over the last 12 months, with more in the pipeline.
