How far can you go?

6 Cadets experienced the thrill of Air Experience Flying over half term week at RAF Benson on the Grob Tutor, taking control and experiencing aerobatics under the tutition of regular RAF pilots. For most of them this was their first experience of flying with the ATC. At the other end of a cadets career FS Alex Dutch was awarded an RAFA Flying Scholarship by the Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshall Sir Stephen Dalton at the RAF Association Conference at Blackpool. One of a handful of scholarship presented by RAFA each year to the Air Cadet Organisation as a thank you for the help provided to RAFA by the Air Cadets, Alex will get 12 hours free flying to enable her to progress towards a Private Pilots License. RAFA is an organisation dedicated to helping serving and former members of the RAF and their families and dependants in matters of welfare, help advice and comradeship. Alex said “I was proud to be selected for this honour and it shows how the Air Cadets can help in achieveing career ambitions”. The photos show a Tutor on an air experience sortie, Alex recieving her award from Sir Stephen, and Alex with the other scholarship winners with the former Commandant Air Cadets Air Commodore Ian Stewart.
