FS Paul Fothergill has just mailed the following report from his IACE to the USA.
Well I have just arrived in Arizona and it is something else. On the night getting to Uxbridge we just put our stuff in our rooms and didn’t return till late going out and socialising, meeting over 100 other cadets from around the country. As soon as we got to the airport at Dulles we went straight to one of Washington D.C’s top hotels which costs around $300 a night and it was 5-luxury! We then went straight down to dinner and met with people from:
Just to name a few! After our huge dinners we had a night in the swimming pool and then to bed in our 5 star luxury double beds! Brilliant. We then had two days of touring the museums and seeing the sights of Washington, always ending up at the end of the night meeting and socialising with people from other countries. I have also managed to nab some stuff from Australia and Canda gift wise! The people are all good fun, and some of the girls are rather attractive! We also did a night tour of the monument and visited various state buildings including the Pentagon, which was quite interesting despite only really being a government office block.
I have just got to Arizona and have been taken out to dinner and am about to go and have a swim in my hosts pool over-looking the beutiful sights of mountains and deserts in Arizona. Tonight we are off to a baseball game, followed by a whole day of gliding tomorrow!
