Innes Sword success

The UK’s Premier Squadron (following on the heels of our Lees Trophy success) has won the 2008 Inness Sword.

The Sqn team spent the weekend at PirbrightTraining Camp battling it out against 22 other Squadrons from London Wing for this prestigious trophy. The competition runs all weekend and is a test of the team’s core military skills.

Congratulations go to our team for coming first and bringing the Sword home for the third time in four years. The team was led by Sgt Sandhu and had the following members:

Cpl Dutch J
Cdt Thomson
Cdt Southcott
Cdt Davidson
Cdt Shaw
Cdt Gachette
Cdt Murphy

Out of eight events the team won four, the full positions are as follows:

1st in Drill
1st in Shooting
1st in Observation stand
1st in First Aid
3rd in Command Task
3rd in Stretcher race
4th in Assault course

The team now becomes the Elworthy team and will represent the Squadron against the Army and the Navy cadets in October and they will be training hard until then.
