Into the Welsh Mountains

Over the first weekend in June the Squadron again took cadets into the mountains of Snowdonia with the aim of getting Quality Mountain Days to prepare cadets for their Gold and Silver expeditions in August. Using the facilities at Caple Curig Camp the cadets were able to get some excellent routes in over the weekend in variable weather conditions which tested their navigation skills. Fg Off Nick Harvey, the Sqn Adventure Training Officer stated “This was a great weekend where the cadets did well over some challenging routes and have honed their mountain skills under the supervision of the Sqn Mountain Leader staff”. The photos show one group on the classic Grib Goach route and on the summitt of Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales.
