Merlin visit

Cadets from the Squadron recently had a visit to 28 Sqn, who fly the Merlin Battlefield Helicopter, at RAF Benson. The impromptu visit was organised by WO Phil Wright after the party of cadets attended Air Experience Flying only to find that the wind was too strong to allow the Tutor aircaft to fly. The cadets were able to get hands on in the Merlin as a member of the aircrew gave them an indepth tour of the aircraft and explained its roles and capabilities. The Sqn OC, Sqn Ldr Godden, said “I would like to thank WO Wright for his quick thinking and flexibilty to arrange the visit at the drop of a hat, and to 28 Sqn for taking the time to make the cadets welcome and allowing them to examine the Merlin close up”.
