The Squadron runs 3 Recruit Intakes a year to bring new blood into he Unit and give young people the opportunity to challenge themselves to take on the activities given by the Sqn and the Air Cadets.
8 weeks training leads to joining the Main Sqn on a Monday and Thursday nights to work towards their First Class Cadet Award and a weekend exercise at Crowborough Training Area in Sussex in September.
During the Initial Course recruits have the opportunity to experience Drill, Shooting, Sport, Leadership Exercises, Basic Fieldcraft and other activities.
The latest course – Recruit Flight 57, comprised of 40 recruits have one week left before joining the main Sqn, having survived their induction to the Unit under the command of the Sqn Warrant Officer Phil Wright and 4 (Recruit) Flight acting SNCO Sgt Kyle O’Donovan.
