In a busy weekend the Sqn provided cadets for several national events:
On Friday 8 cadets attended the Commonwealth War memorial in Hyde Park for a ceremony in the presence of the Indian and Pakistani High Commissioners
On Saturday 10 cadets and AWO Wright attended the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. The cadets provided the carpet guard for the Chelsea Pensioners, IFS Kristina Pisano paraded the Corps Banner (and was just visible on the BBC coverage!) and all cadets took part in the final muster including giving 3 cheers for HM The Queen who was present.
ON Sunday 15 cadets and ASgt Jerome paraded at Whitehall as part of the national act of Remembrance and where a major part of the ATC contingent who marched past the Cenotaph and where reviewed by the Duke of Kent on Horseguards, and where clearly identified on the BBC coverage.
Comments received about the cadets included:
"Just a quick note to say how well your guys did on Saturday! The QCS and Regular guys I was with, continually kept commenting on how smart your F/Sgt was, as well as the other guys, especially compared to the ACF/SCC/CCF guys. I can honestly say I didn’t hear a negative comment at all!" from another Sqn Commander in London Wing,
"And here come the Royal Air Force Cadets looking extremely smart" from the BBC Commentator on Sunday,
and praise from the Garrison Sergeant Major (praise indeed) of London District.
In addition 70 cadet plus staff paraded at Loughton War Memorial with 2324 (Chigwell) Sqn giving a total of over 100 Air Cadets at that parade!
