Cadet Flight Sergeant Myles Webb was recently been honoured by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Redbridge, Colonel Alan Hall, with the award of of a certificate for his outstanding examples as a cadets and member of the community in the presence of the Mayor of Redbridge Mr Thomas Chan in the Mayors Office at Ilford Town Hall. Myles parents where also present to hear his citations read and presentation of the certificate.
These prestigious awards, known as The Deputy Lord Lieutenants Award, are awarded to cadets who having been nominated by their Squadron Commander, and are selected by the Deputy Lieutenant for their service to the local community. In Myles case he has served for 4 years with the Sqn and is responsible for the running of 4 (Recruit) Flight of around 30 cadets, and is in charge of discipline, welfare, attendance and motivation of youngsters aged from 13 to 18. Amongst his many achievements is a Silver Duke of Edinburghs Award, an Advanced Glider Pilots Wings and a Staff Cadet at 614 Volunteer Gliding Schools as well as working for the community with the Royal British Legion and Haven House Childrens Hospice.
