Shooting, Drill & the Air

On a typically busy weekend the Sqn fulfilled a number of roles:

20 Cadets attended a shooting camp over the weekend at Bisley, firing the L81 Rifle at ranges up to 500m in preparation for a competition on the May Bank Holiday weekend at Bisley. Cadets and Staff from 27F Squadron also attended, and the cadets where gratified to see their scores increasing as the weekend progressed, although a range at the back of the range caused the shooting to be curtailed early on the Saturday!

A further 20 cadets attended the Annual St Georges Day Parade down Whitehall in London (to the delight of various foreign tourists) and Sgt Caroline Dent had the honour of parading the London Wing Banner.

3 Cadets attended Wethersfield Airfield and completed their Gliding Induction Courses

and Cdt Courtney Lawrence represented the Region in the Inter Region Football Competition at RAF Northolt.

On the Sunday 29 Cadets flew the Tutor at RAF Benson on a sunny day and 3 staff and 1 cadets attended a BASIC Introductory Staff Course at 4f (Ilford) Sqn.

The photo shows the cadets loading the Sqn land rover at Bisley on the Sunday morning before breakfast.
