On Remberence Sunday the Squadron played its full part in the local commemerations. 85 Cadets and 5 Staff joining with 2324 (Chigwell) Sqn for the remberence parade at Loughton, with over 120 cadets being on parade. Unlike 2010 the weather was dry, but unseasonably hot instead! this inconvenience was bourne with stoicism as all ranks remembered the sacrifices of those who fell for their country. Meanwhile another 25 Cadets and 5 staff paraded at Wanstead War memorial, which has a special meaning for the Sqn as ex cadet Royal Marine Tom Curry’s name is on the memorial, Tom having been killed in action in Afghanistan in 2007. The OC Sqn Ldr Godden said “Remberence is a duty which we owe to those who have made the supreme sacrfice, and it is fitting that we parade rain or shine each year to fufil that duty”.
