Visit to the Bunker!

Cadets from the Sqn visited the 11 Group Operations Bunker at RAF Station Uxbridge and the RAF Museam at Hendon on Saturday 16 December.

The bunker is the building where the RAF controlled the Battle of Britain in 1940 for the vital 11 Group area of south east England. Not open to the general public the building is maintained as it was on September 15 1940 (Battle of Britain Day) when the Prime Minister Winston Churchill (incidentially the Sqns first President) watched the enfolding drama of the repluse of the German attacks.

After this fascinating visit the Cadets then visited the RAF Museam to get a flavour of the past history of the parent service in one of the premier aviation exhibtions in the world.
