What a Weekend!

On the first weekend of the Half Term week you may be forgiven for thinking that the Squadron would not be busy; however you would be wrong!

3 Cadets attended 614 Volunteer Gliding Squadron at Weathersfield on the Saturday and completed thier Gliding Induction Course, making them eligable for Glider Pilot Training.

1st Class Cadets carried out practical navigation training in Epping Forest on ther Saturday.

Senior Cadets attended a NCO Cadre Course over the weekend at Crowborough in Sussex, together with cadets from 2324 (Chigwell) Sqn, and a separate report will be published soon for this event

7 Cadets secured a Wing Blue each playing in the Inter Wing Junior Rugby and Junior Netball, and Cdt Lamsodis and Birbeck have been picked for the Region Rugby and Netball Teams respectively. Sgt Kirsty Troy was on her first outing as the manager of the Wing Netball Team and Cpl Jack Chavener was coaching the Rugby Team.

Cpl Bianca Nicklen attended Nijmegen March Training at Folkstone, and Sgt Rob Fothergill another weekend on his Junior Leaders Course in Yorkshire (Over his 18th birthday!)

Cadet also participated in L98 Rifle Shooting at Henly Park Range on the Sunday with Cadets from 1838 (Elm Park) Squadron on a gorgeous sunny day.

Two of the Staff where in Norway Ice Climbing, working towards their Winter Mountain Leader Qualifications, and another two were undertaking Winter Mountaineering in Scotland.

This is possibly the busiest weekend in terms of the number and range of activities we have ever undertaken!
