Wing President visits 241 Sqn

On a hot evening on 26 Jul the new President of London Wing ATC visited 241 Squadron on his first official visit to a Squadron. Air Marshal Sir David Walker, who is now Master of the Royal Household, was able to take a break from his duties in running Buckingham Palace in the run up to the Olympics, and with his wife tour the Squadron and talk to the staff and cadets who were engaged in a wide range of typical summer activities, being shown around by their ADC, Cdt FS Finlay Bliss. The Sqn OC said “This was an honour for the Squadron and an great opportunity to show Sir David what we do and how we function, and for him to present various awards to the Cadets and best of all it didnt rain!” The photos show Sir David inspecting the Guard of Honour, talking to CI Luke Benjafield about his Olympic Torch duties, and presenting Cpl Katherine Doidge with her BTEC in Public Service (worth 4 GCSEs at A*-C).
